![]() VIVA TORTILLA FLATS.Hours: Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. So, in recapping, the dinner was good, and some of it, very good. i ended up bringing about half of it home. the waitress was pleasant, and on the spot with food and my drink. i wonder if they can be made with the green sauce, or even just the homemade salsa instead. it wasn't bad, just for me, somewhat disappointing. i didn't taste any spices or chili in it. the mole was somewhat bland, for my tastes. i think they would have been better if they hadn't put their mole on it. the flavors actually made me a little homesick. The rice and beans tasted like my mom's, and truly, that is the highest of compliments. the next time i want a good chicken taco, i'll be sure to come here before i venture out of town. the chicken was not overcooked and dry it was moist and full of flavor. ![]() The chicken taco was the highlight of the entrees, as far as i was concerned. i even bought some to bring home, something i don't usually do. ![]() i had the grande combination plate choosing a chicken enchilada, chili relleno, and chicken taco with rice and beans. i finally threw caution to the wind, and went to try it on 16 September. partly because of that, i had been reluctant to try Tortilla Flats. i was brought up in a Mexican home, with authentic food recipes from my parents' ancestral home country. I've lived in Rio Vista for a few years, now.
